Exhibition nameNegocios nos Trilhos (Business on Rails Exhibition and Conference)
LocationExpo Centre Norte, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Business on Rails is the biggest railway exhibition in Central and South America. It focuses on Brazil’s rail transportation market, and is organized by the publisher of Brazil’s largest railway-related journal, a company called Revista Ferroviaria Magazine. This year’s exhibition was the 14th, and the third time for JORSA to participate.

Brazil’s plans for construction of a new high-speed railway are not clear at the moment, but projects are moving ahead to increase passenger transportation on conventional lines, freight rail transportation routes are being developed to enhance distribution infrastructure, and a number of urban transit projects are being pursed as more people migrate to the cities. These conditions provided for an opportune time for JORSA to participate in the exhibition and publicize Japan’s superlative high-speed railway system, as part of its support for the drive to obtain orders for similar systems from Japan.

Mr. Paulo Sérgio Passos , the Minister of Transportation, attended the exhibition on its first day, carrying on the tradition begun by Ministry officials, and demonstrating how the government of Brazil is convinced of the importance of the exhibition and rail infrastructure development.
