Nabtesco Corporation has already built a track record for its pneumatic door systems for high-speed train cars both in Japan and in the United Kingdom, and the systems are chosen for 396 train cars running on the Great Western Main Line based on the IEP (Intercity Express Programme) in recognition of their high reliability. The systems are also equipped with controllers to control the movement of each door electronically and will conform to the Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL 2), a safety standard implemented in Europe. Thanks to the order, the number of Nabtesco door products used in railroad cars in the United Kingdom will exceed 2,000.
