Delivery has been ongoing since 2008, and delivered cars are already in revenue service.

The PA-5 has a stainless steel carbody and is equipped with highly reliable control devices, air-conditioning equipment, door operating equipment, a public announcement system and other equipment ensuring high levels of safety, comfort and convenience.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries had already manufactured and delivered 94 PA-4 rail cars for PATH, and had also upgraded 248 of PATH’s PA-1, PA-2 and PA-3 vehicles. Now, as PATH takes delivery of the PA-5 rail cars, it is using them to replace its obsolete rolling stock. Once delivery of the new rolling stock is completed during 2012, PATH’s entire fleet will be made by Kawasaki.
